Canada

Built for concrete subs. Runs in cubic metres.

Pick Canada in Control Panel ▸ Cross-Hub Options and everything follows: postal codes, °C and millimetres on every site’s 14-day forecast, cubic metres and MPa on every pour, square metres on every slab — the same pour board, crew planner and daily reports, with your whole crew free as viewers.

The Place & Finish pour board for a Canadian workspace — Toronto, Calgary, Montréal, Edmonton and Vancouver offices, cubic-metre pills with square-metre areas, and a 14-day forecast in °C and millimetres on every project.
Metric, natively. Cubic metres, MPa, m², °C and millimetres — not a converted yard.
Per project, too. A US company can run one Canadian job in metric.
Email notices everywhere. Plant, pump, GC, PM and crew — text alerts are US-only.

Country

Pick Canada once. The units follow.

Set the workspace country to Canada in the Control Panel and the defaults switch: postal codes in the Canada Post format, provinces instead of states, Celsius, kilometres per hour and millimetres for weather, cubic metres and MPa for concrete. Units can be pinned either way if a border crew prefers Fahrenheit, and every project carries its own country — so a US company runs a Canadian job in metric without touching anything else.

Weather

The forecast on every site, in °C and millimetres.

Type the postal code and the site geocodes itself. Every project gets a rolling 14-day forecast where the go/no-go is made, with highs and lows in Celsius and rain in millimetres, and the heat and cold thresholds read the same way. CSA A23.1’s cold-weather provisions are your spec; the forecast on the pour is where you see them coming, at the desk on Thursday instead of at the plant at 5 AM.

Fourteen days of forecast chips across the pour board — highs and lows in °C, rain chance and millimetres — on Toronto projects.

The pour

Cubic metres and MPa on the pill, m² on the slab.

Every pour card carries its volume in m³ and its mix in MPa, slab areas in m², and the board rolls cubic metres up by day, week and region. One click still confirms, moves or cancels the pour and tells the plant, pump, GC, PM and crew. Labor productivity reads in man-hours per cubic metre — entered per m³, never a converted per-yard number.

Overtime

Overtime the way your province counts it.

Three overtime modes. Auto-40 moves straight hours past 40 in the week into overtime — Quebec’s 40-hour standard. California 8-hour is over 8 a day at time-and-a-half, over 12 at double time, with the 40-hour weekly backstop — the same shape as British Columbia’s rules. Ontario’s 44-hour week and Alberta’s 8-a-day-or-44-a-week run in Manual: the office types ST, OT and DT the way the province counts them. Confirm the thresholds against your provincial employment standards; the mode decides which bucket an hour lands in, your payroll applies the rate.

Statutory holidays

Canada Day, the October Thanksgiving, and your province’s days.

US federal holidays come preloaded. Add Canada Day, Thanksgiving in October, Remembrance Day and the provincial statutory days as custom holidays; they show on the timesheet as HOL at your standard day when you pay them, and they stay out of the overtime math.

Payroll

Files for ADP and QuickBooks — and a CSV for the rest.

One-click exports built to each system’s import spec: ADP Workforce Now, ADP RUN, QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Paychex, Gusto, Paylocity, Sage, Vista, Foundation — plus a Universal CSV and a branded Excel timesheet, with your own earn codes, for anything else.

Notices

Email everywhere. Texts are US-only.

Confirm, move or cancel a pour and the notice reaches the plant, the pump operator, the GC, the PM and the crew by email in Canada exactly as in the US. Text alerts run on a US number under US carrier rules and are switched off outside the US, so a Canadian workspace is email-first — and the crew reads the live board on the free viewer login or the Planning Ops for iPhone and iPad.

Language

English and Spanish today. French is not here yet.

Foremen can file the daily report in English or Spanish; the office and the GC read it in English (typed notes stay as written). There is no French interface today. If French would decide it for your crew, tell us — it shapes the roadmap.

Pricing and hosting

US dollars, US servers, Canadian workspaces.

Planning Ops is a US company, billed by card in US dollars — $149/mo flat, 3 working seats, unlimited free viewers, extra seats $20/seat — and your bank does the conversion. Data is hosted in the United States on AWS (us-east-1) and backed up daily. Full pricing →

Canada — common questions

Does Planning Ops work in Canada?
Yes. Set the workspace country to Canada and the product follows: Canada Post postal codes, provinces, Celsius and millimetres on the forecast, cubic metres and MPa on every pour, square metres on every slab. Each project carries its own country too, so a US company can run one Canadian job in metric. Notices go out by email everywhere; text alerts are US-only.
Does it use cubic metres and MPa, or convert from yards?
Native units, not conversions. On a Canadian project the pour card, the board rollups and the exports read in m³, mixes in MPa, slab areas in m², and labor productivity in man-hours per cubic metre — you enter the rate per m³, never a converted per-yard number. Cross-country rollups convert only where a US and a Canadian job are added together.
Do Canadian postal codes work for the weather?
Yes. Type the postal code (A1A 1A1 format) and the site geocodes itself; the project gets a rolling 14-day forecast in °C with rain in millimetres, shown on the pour where the go/no-go is made. Heat and cold thresholds read in Celsius as well.
How does overtime work for Ontario, BC, Alberta or Quebec?
Time tracking has three overtime modes. Auto-40 moves straight hours past 40 in the week into overtime — Quebec’s 40-hour standard. The California 8-hour mode is over 8 hours a day at time-and-a-half, over 12 at double time, with a 40-hour weekly backstop — the same shape as British Columbia’s daily and weekly rules. Ontario’s 44-hour week and Alberta’s 8-a-day-or-44-a-week are handled in Manual mode: the office types ST, OT and DT the way the province counts them. Confirm thresholds against your provincial employment standards; the mode decides which bucket an hour lands in, your payroll applies the rate.
Can I add Canadian statutory holidays?
Yes. US federal holidays come preloaded; add Canada Day, the October Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day and your province’s statutory days as custom holidays. They show on the timesheet as HOL at your standard day when you pay them, and they stay out of the overtime math.
Which Canadian payroll systems can it export to?
Thirteen one-click presets built to each system’s import spec — ADP Workforce Now, ADP RUN, QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Paychex, Gusto, Paylocity, Sage 100 Contractor, Sage 300 CRE, Vista and Foundation, a Universal CSV and a branded Excel timesheet with your own earn codes for anything else.
Is it available in French?
Not yet. Foremen can file the daily report in English or Spanish, and the office and the GC read it in English, though typed notes stay as written; there is no French interface today. If French would decide it for your crew, tell us — it shapes the roadmap.
What currency is it billed in, and where is the data hosted?
Planning Ops is a US company billed by card in US dollars — $149/mo flat with 3 working seats and unlimited free viewers, extra seats $20/seat — and your bank converts. Data is hosted in the United States on AWS (us-east-1) and backed up daily.
