Why it matters at 5:45 AM

The schedule stopped living on a laptop.

The person who most needs the schedule is the one furthest from a desk. Until now that meant a screenshot texted the night before — already wrong by the time the trucks rolled.

The phone view is a day at a time, not a squeezed spreadsheet. Each pour is a card: job, placement type, yards, crew, start time, and the forecast for that morning. Confirm it, move it, or cancel it right there — the notice goes out to the PM, super, ready-mix, pump operator and crew without you writing anything.

Double-bookings ride at the top in red, so the conflict finds you instead of the other way around.

On iPad

The whole board, not a summary.

iPad gets the real thing: projects down the side, days across the top, every pour a tile you can drag to another day. The office runs it on a PC, the super runs it on an iPad in the truck, and it’s the same board — not an export, not a copy.

Which is how it was designed in the first place. The board was built for a tablet at 6 AM long before it had an icon on a home screen.

Sign-in

Face ID, then straight to the board.

Typing a password on a jobsite, in gloves, in the dark, is how people stop opening an app. So after the first sign-in Planning Ops offers Face ID (or Touch ID) and from then on it’s a glance. You can turn it off again under My Account whenever you want.

Same login as the web hub, same workspace, same permissions — a viewer is still a viewer on a phone, and an admin is still an admin.

The app — common questions

Does the app cost extra?
No. It’s included in your Planning Ops workspace at no additional charge, and it doesn’t consume an extra seat — the same person signing in on a laptop and a phone is one seat, not two.
Can I sign up inside the app?
No — Planning Ops is a seat-based product for companies, so your workspace administrator provisions your login. Install the app, then sign in with the account you already use on the web. If your company isn’t on Planning Ops yet, start the free trial on the web first and the app will be waiting.
Is this a stripped-down version of the web app?
It’s the same product against the same live workspace, laid out for the screen you’re holding. On iPad you get the full pour board — projects down the side, days across, drag a pour to move it. On iPhone it’s a day-by-day view built for one hand at 6 AM: today’s pours, the crew, the weather, and the confirm and cancel actions. Change a pour on a phone and the office sees it immediately.
Can I unlock it with Face ID?
Yes. After you sign in the first time, the app offers to turn on Face ID (or Touch ID) so you can get back in without retyping a password on a jobsite. You can switch it on or off any time under My Account.
What happens when I lose signal?
A daily report you’re in the middle of writing is kept on your device and syncs by itself as soon as you’re back on a connection, so a basement pour or a rural job doesn’t cost you the report. The schedule itself is live and shared, so it needs a connection to be current rather than a stale copy — if you’re headed somewhere with no service at all, export the schedule PDF before you go.
Is there an Android version?
Not today — iPhone and iPad only. Android and desktop users get the same workspace at hub.planningops.com in any browser; it’s the same live board, just without an icon on the home screen.
